ARCHITECTS CLIMATE ACTION NETWORK (ACAN) - NORDIC | BALTIC REGION
the Architects Climate Action Network was set up in the UK in 2019, mainly based in London, and it is a network of individuals within architecture (and related professions) wanting to take action to address the twin crises of climate and ecological breakdown.
ACAN has three overarching aims:
1. DECARBONISE NOW
2. ECOLOGICAL RESTORATION
3. CULTURAL TRANSFORMATION
They aim to do this through creating a network of engaged and active architects who:
* share knowledge and research
* take direct action & public engagement
* lobby and undertake political/policy campaigns
With support from ACAN UK, we are trying to create a Nordic (FI, NO, DK, SE) network, and possibly extending it to include (some of?) the Baltic region (EST, DE, PO, LAT, LITH, RU). We have more power in numbers, though several issues are of course localised.
